After 37 years in the neighborhood, Don and his wife Ada knew The Sequoias San Francisco was where they wanted to be. They had seen loved ones navigate the challenges of aging and decided to make the move early—while they were still active and ready to embrace everything community life has to offer. For them, it wasn’t about slowing down, but about finding a place where they could keep living the lives they love, surrounded by people who care.
Ada continues to create in her art studio, while Don, a retired architect, has leaned into his lifelong love of music. These days you’ll often find him leading a ukulele class, filling the room with song and laughter as neighbors learn together. What began as a personal passion has become a way to build connections, inspire others, and celebrate each day with joy.
